Dress Code for Ballet Classes
Split Sole Ballet Slippers may only be worn in Grades V and above
All Ballet students, Grades I and up must wear their hair in a bun. No t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, legwarmers, ballet skirts or jewelry may be worn during any Ballet or Jazz class. All Ballet Classes Grades I and up will need character skirts ( You may be measured at ACA and have one made or rent a skirt for the year) and soft canvas character shoes.
Creative Movement, Ballet/Tap, Pre Primary Ballet
Tank style pink leotard (plain with no embellishments), matching knee length swiss dot official Royal Academy of Dance pink skirt, light pink ankle socks, and pink ballet slippers. Black tap shoes needed for Combination Class. Tights may be worn in the winter.
Primary
Tank style light blue leotard (plain with no embellishments), matching elasticized belt, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet slippers, matching knee length swiss dot official Royal Academy of Dance blue skirt.
Grades One and Two Ballet
Navy blue tank style leotard, matching elasticized belt, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black character shoes.
Grades Three and Four Ballet
Red tank style leotard, matching elasticized belt, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black character shoes.
Grade Five Ballet
Burgundy tank leotard, matching elasticized belt, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black character shoes.
Grades Six, Seven and Eight Ballet
Any shade of lilac, lavender or periwinkle camisole style leotard, matching elasticized belt, theatrical pink tights,
pink ballet slippers, and black character shoes.
Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation
and Advanced One and Two
Simple camisole black leotard, white elastic belt, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black character shoes.
Adult Ballet
Any solid color leotard and tights. May wear ballet skirts.
Men and Boys Ballet
White tee shirt, black tights and black ballet shoes. Boys in Creative
Movement, Ballet/Tap, Pre Primary and Primary levels, may wear black shorts or jazz pants with white or black socks.

Dress Code for Jazz, Tap,
Hip Hop
and Musical Theatre:
Jazz
Any leotard, tights, black jazz shoes. Jazz III and above may wear jazz pants.
Hip Hop, Tap, and Musical Theatre
Any form fitting fitness wear.
Sneakers are appropriate for Hip Hop.
Tap classes require black oxford tap shoes. Tap V and above will be required to purchase black character style tap shoes with heels.
Musical Theatre requires one pair of 1 1/2 -2 inch Black character shoes and 1 1/2 inch Tan character shoes for women and black jazz shoes for men.
